Butter Chicken
A simple butter chicken with good ingredients
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of Plain Yoghurt
- 2 cloves garlic
- chunk of ginger (roughly size of a quarter)
- 1/2 Lemon
- 2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tbsp Ground Cumin
- Salt
- 1 pack of Chicken (thighs or drumsticks are recommended)
- 2 tbsp of Ghee
- 1 cup Tomato Passata
- 1/2 cup of Heavy Cream
Instructions
The recipe consists of a marinade and a sauce:
Marinade:
1. add the yoghurt, lemon juice, and the dry spices and a pinch of salt into a mixing bowl
2. dice the garlic and ginger, add to bowl
3. mix the contents up well
4. Add the chicken to a baking dish
5. cover the chicken in the marinade
6. mix well and let sit for 1hr
Sauce:
1. Melt 2 spoons of Ghee
2. in a mixing bowl, add the melted ghee, tomato passata, cream, and a pinch of salt
3. mix well, add to baking dish with chicken
4. mix everything well
Finally:
1. put in 400F oven for 40 minutes
2. pull chicken out, baste in the sauce
3. put oven on broil, put chicken back in for another 10-15 minutes
Best served with rice, can be garnished with herbs
